Reviews for this release

I had to reduce the rating because of the following: When you bring up the code in SSMS, the code is not color coded and there is some problem with the script (background text). When you run it will say there is no stored procedure 'U'. What I really did was to copy this into NotePad and save it with a different name. I called up the saved file in SSMS. Now it works. In SQL Server 2012 another ...

Works on MSSQL 2008. Database restored with SSMS 2016, views and procedures working fine. Thanks for this perfect example!

The ERD (database table relationship) picture is AWFUL (and the download is worse)! Any half-decent Dev/DBA would avoid crossing lines and base those FK lines on specific columns. Ain't you got no pride man? If you want a proper ERD layout see my pic on gdrive at

I could not get the backup version to work so I, too, went to the scripted version. Just to clarify: what the couple other reviewers ran into was an encoding problem. The file is UTF16 and both SSMS and sqlcmd balk at that; you have to convert the file to ASCII. The simplest way to do that is with PowerShell: PS> gc .\northwind.sql -Encoding Unicode | sc northwind2.sql

I agree with @mysorian (from 2013-Oct-25), I had to create the Northwind DB (Create Database Northwind) command...and edit the SQL code in a Text Editor...and save it then copy it inside the SQL Server Mgr . reason: the code was changed as Spaced characters. eg. if "USE Northwind"? then it changed it to "U S E N o r t h w i n d" !!!
